Finish Line

Honestly, I wish I did better in IS101-3210. I'm talking about procrastinating assignments and not taking advantage of bonus quizzes and assignments. Regardless of this, I had a good experience, this was my first time in a computer based course. My classmates were fun, I enjoyed the presentation assignment because it showed me more of who they are and I thought that it was fun. The course itself was very overwhelming at first but I slowly got used to it. The assignments (A1-A10) were my biggest enemy. They took me more time than the exams, discussions, and LabSim work. The professor was helpful in all of this. He kept me on my feet with reminders and helped me when I needed it. With this being said, I am glad to be at the end and to finish off strong with all the skills I learned.

6.9.7 Animation and Transition Facts, during middle school and high school, I loved to make presentations and add all the transitions/animations. I knew the basics of animations and transitions but this unit helped me even more and I had fun with it.

During phase 2: Microsoft Excel and URL Components & Social Engineering, I firmly believe that I did better, deadlines wise, definitely not the best but I was happy to catch up and stay somewhat on top of things. I always believe there is room for improvement and I still stand on that. We had less work this time around, however it was harder for me. Honestly, it was harder to memorize the formulas and what data to enter. This goes for the A6 Spreadsheet analysis with Trailer as well, I had a hard time and have yet to submit a perfect version.

5.6.1 Formulas and Functions, I have never before used Excel however I thought this unit was interesting and the one I thought was most challenging to get a hang of.

After IS101-3210, I will apply the skills I have learned when it comes to school and the workplace. I have already started applying my skills from phase 1.

The goal is to upgrade my mindset and habits to focus on the best achievements I can reach, I will continue to work towards that. This is something I have been wanting to do instead of procrastinating and doing work last minute, making it harder for me to actually learn the materials.

Phase one feedback

Assignment quality-wise, I think I did decently. Time-wise, I could most definitely improve on. For future phases, I would use an organizational format that would help me organize my assignments and their due dates in order to avoid missing deadlines and assignments.

4.3.2 Font Choices - I take my fonts seriously and must always change them to something nice (I always end up with Times New Roman). 

In order to prepare for the upcoming MO-110 Word certification exam, I will try my best to review the modules and/or follow a study guide.

My favorite activity is bed rotting. Lately, I haven't been able to do this due to changes in my life. Half of me is happy because I used to wish I were busier and was occupied with work and school, but the other half of me now sees it can be overwhelming. Although I look up to my older sister, who has been doing this since the beginning of high school (when she was 15-16). She does it well, and I hope to be as organized as she is.

Introduction

(a) I would like to formally introduce myself as Andrea Piedra. Before this year, I took CSN classes during high school, meaning that this would be my third year at CSN. Along with IS101-3210, I am taking four other courses. 

(b) When I first saw what IS101 was about, it wasn't what i expected. I found out it was a course on the basic software programs and a guide to achieve the Microsoft Office Specialty Certification. I do believe it has a handful of class workload, which I didn't expect but now looking at it, I should've expected this. 

(c) I am having trouble accessing Labsim as of now, but I can say that one of the skills that I have experience in is social media. I have been using social media since I was young, which wasn't good but I would say that I am somewhat experienced in that.

1.3.8 Checking your email 

I try to check my email every morning and make a good habit out of it. I am usually good at this as I directly receive a notification from the app when I open my phone. When starting IS101-3210, I had to make it a habit to check in everyday on the app and not just depend on the notification on my screen but rather entering the app and going through my folders and new emails daily. This has helped me greatly in staying on top of important information and class related emails.
